1. Influence the health care environment.
- Identification and communications of
the
AzPTA concerns regarding health care changes on the public’s physical
therapy needs.
- On going facilitation of member
appointment
to government office, task force, committee, etc.
- Develop strategies to provide education
and
support to members in maintaining professional standards despite
adverse employment conditions.
- Increase member involvement in
monitoring the
ethics and practice of physical therapy
- Positively influence the rules and
regulations that the State Board of Physical Therapy adopts on an
on-going basis.
- Positively influence pertinent
healthcare
legislation on-going basis.
- Identify and influence reimbursement
regulations and other reimbursement issues as they pertain to physical
therapy.
- Monitor and influence trends in health
care
education as they pertain to physical therapy.
2. Encourage membership growth and involvement.
- Increase Arizona membership to above
level of
December 31, 2004
- Monitor and influence trends in
membership
retention and recruitment.
- Increase student member involvement in
the
Association.
- Increase the percentage of members who
attend
at least one Association meeting annually.
- Increase the percentage of attendance
at the
Region meetings by 10% annually.
- Increase the number of members who are
serving the association in some appointed or voluntary capacity 10%
annually.
- Increase the number of involved
physical
therapists who participate in professional growth activities.
- Increase the involvement of Arizona
physical
therapist assistants who participate in paraprofessional growth
activities.
3. Promote public awareness of physical therapy
and
related health care issues.
- Identify issues and information the public
should be aware:
- Health plan benefits in relation to
rehab
services.
- Distinguishing the different types of
services available from rehab providers.
- Benefits of physical therapy for
specific
injuries, illness, and wellness.
- Access to appropriate care.
- Increase information to the public
regarding
Physical Therapy and related health care services.
- Educate and empower the public to seek and
obtain physical therapy services.
- Increase the number of Arizonans who
receive
Physical Therapy and related services.
