Oncology Considerations for the Outpatient Physical Therapist

Presented by Jay McCallum, PT, DPT, OCS

Virtual presentation 5:30-6:30pm on Tues 2/24/26

As the effectiveness of oncology care continues to rise physical therapists are seeing increasing numbers of patients who are either cancer survivors or are undergoing cancer treatment. This one-hour professional education presentation, Oncology Considerations for the Outpatient Physical Therapist, equips clinicians with practical knowledge to safely and confidently manage patients with a current or past cancer diagnosis. Participants will explore common cancer-related impairments, treatment side effects that influence exercise prescription and progression, red flags requiring referral, and strategies for adapting outpatient plans of care to support function, participation, and quality of life.
