The Arizona Physical Therapy Directors (AZPTD) Special Interest Group (SIG) was created to support physical therapists who are committed to developing their leadership capacity, expanding their professional influence, and strengthening the future of our profession across the state.

The AZPTD SIG provides a collaborative community of practice where members can:

• Cultivate leadership skills
• Engage in meaningful dialogue about professional challenges and opportunities
• Connect with colleagues who share a vision for advancing physical therapy in Arizona
• Contribute to shaping the profession at the state level

Our meetings are in person or virtual the second Tuesday of every month.

Our History
The group was established in the 1970s to provide a forum for the discussion of topics of common interest and concern to managers of programs providing rehabilitative care. Monthly meetings have included topics on supervisory
skills, legislation that impacts physical therapy and rehabilitation, and new developments in rehabilitative care. In addition, each meeting consists of a roundtable, allowing each member to discuss with the group any concerns specific to their practice setting.
